Your hosts at The New Inn are husband and wife team – Mr Lin and Sally. The New Inn is everything that you would expect from a quality restaurant and public house, yet with the promise of more to come…
Mr Lin has purposely limited the menu so as to not intimidate the customers and allow people to get used to the basic sauces and ingredients of Chinese cooking, yet if you know what you want you can order in advance any special dishes you would like and provided that we can get the ingredients, he will cook it.
Indeed Mr Lin’s expertise far exceeds the tastes of the average English person, he is skilled in the preparation and cooking of such delights as Crocodile and Snake. However, as the only potential suppliers in the area, Flamingo Land is not prepared to supply us the ingredients.
Most of the changes to The New Inn are not immediately obvious, such as the completely revamped and new kitchen, the invisible, yet larger gas tank, the new walk in freezer and the new cellar.
The more obvious changes are that the old conservatory has gone, the toilets have moved and been modernised and the whole bar and restaurant have been opened up to make give a lighter airier feel.
Technologically speaking, there are a lot of new things happening, the place has been rewired, underfloor heating has been installed and there is a eco-friendly ‘waste heat reclamation room’ behind the bar.
However, by far the most important change is the The New Inn is now a Cantonese Restaurant with fine wines and quality beers, whilst still maintaining a Yorkshire Pub atmosphere.
